Weaving Wild Wonder (2021)

a community art project during COVID lockdown

During lockdown, we developed an online community art project using the medium of photography, digital technologies and social media to explore the symbol of a circle and concepts of connection, community, resilience and well-being.

Participants were invited to go bushwalking or on neighbourhood walks and take photos of circles found while in lockdown, weaving together connection and care. The next stage of the art project extended into a curated series of online workshops, including nature-based poetry sessions and zine making with Julie-Ann Henninger and Dan Carey, therapeutic and expressive art with Niki Read and a Sacred Round on Stolen Ground: Decolonising wild adventures with Raphael Lavallee from Bogong Moth Art.
